Deferred Compensation

The Kern County 457 Deferred Compensation Plan is a tool to help you save and invest additional monies for the purposes of retirement. This Section 457 plan (administered through the County of Kern by Great-West Life) allows employees to contribute on a pre-tax basis to an account which can be invested in any combination of approximately twenty funds. Normal contributions are limited to $17,500 per year (in 2014). The tax savings and minimal fees allow for a sound retirement supplement. If you are interested in establishing a Deferred Compensation account, please contact Susan Leedy at the number provided below, or stop by their offices located at 1115 Truxtun Avenue (County of Kern Administrative Building) in the Kern County Treasurer Tax Collector's Office.
