Superior Court of California, County of Kern, has a new Judge. The Hon. Cory L. Woodward, who
was serving as our Court Commissioner in the East Division,
was sworn in as Kern's new judge today.

SUPERIOR COURT COMMISSIONER: The Superior Court of California, County of Kern, is
seeking a highly competent individual to serve as a Court Commissioner. The Court Commissioner
shall serve at the pleasure of the Judges of the Superior Court and will be assigned to any
department or program as required by the Presiding Judge. Primary assignment will be in East
Kern but may travel to any of ten county court locations. Minimum Qualifications: Active
member in good standing of the California Bar for a period of at least ten (10) years prior
to appointment. Recommended Qualifications: Proven experience in family law, criminal and
civil matters with knowledge of trial and hearing procedures. Experience as hearing officer,

New Clerical Operations Hours
Beginning the week of July 5, 2005, all Kern County Superior Court Clerical service windows and telephones will close at 4:00 PM on Thursdays. Drop Boxes will be available for customers to file court documents or payments after 4:00 PM. All documents deposited in the Drop Boxes will be date stamped appropriately. These operating hours are not applicable to courtrooms.
