Introduction

Limited Civil has jurisdiction over lawsuits and labor appeals up to and including $25,000.

Process:

Overview: Upon filing a limited civil case (under $25,000), a case number is assigned, and copies are returned to counsel for service. Note: A Civil Case Cover Sheet and Statement Of Location must accompany all limited civil cases for filing.

Fax Filings: The Metropolitan Division accepts FAX filings through Official Payments (opens new window) Automated FAX Filing System. This service will allow all clients of the Court to FAX file any civil matter. The telephone number to activate is

You may also FAX a document to a local attorney service and they can arrange for payment in advance.
