Unlawful Detainers

Unlawful Detainers, also known as "evictions" or "landlord-tenant disputes," are processed in the Civil Department of the Superior Court. All Unlawful Detainer claims in the Metropolitan Division of the Superior Court of California, County of Kern, may be filed at:

  4. The Landlord Tenant Assistance Center (LTAC) is located at Window 8 next to the Civil Division. Hours:  Monday and Wednesday 8:30am to 3:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am to 4:00pm, Closed 12:00 to 1:30 daily, Friday – closed. LTAC is a grant funded project between the Kern County Superior Court and Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance, Inc. offering landlords and tenants information, forms, referrals and other services relating to unlawful detainers/evictions.
