For Temporary Judges, there is a new Live Bench Conduct and Demeanor course scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 5:45 p.m. Please complete the registration form and return to Kern County Superior Court prior to May 13, 2008.
This training is required for attorneys applying for the Temporary Judge Program with Kern County Superior Court. Current Temporary Judges are required to attend this course every three years.

The Superior Court of California, County of Kern will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2008, in observance of Cesar Chavez Day.

The Superior Court of California, County of Kern, has entered into a lease agreement to move the Metro Traffic Court and its clerical division to a facility located at 3131 Arrow Street, just off Buck Owens Blvd sometime in late Fall. More information is to be announced but at this juncture, continue to report to 1215 Truxtun unless otherwise notified.

| Community Outreach

| The Kern County Community Outreach effort began in 1998 with a committee chaired by the Honorable Roger D. Randall of the Superior Court. The strategic plan requires the development of external and internal efforts that will focus the limited resources of the Courts on meeting their designated mission. One ongoing project of this committee, the docent (court volunteer) program, helps to make the courts more user friendly. About the docent program/how to volunteer

| Superior Court of California, County of Kern court employees are prohibited from giving legal advice per section 24004 and 68082 of the Government Code. In addition, court employees may not give advice as to which legal forms to use or how to complete the forms.
