Limited Parking at Juvenile Justice Center

The County of Kern is installing solar panels in the parking lot of Public Health. This will impact parking at the Juvenile Justice Center.

Extra-Help/Temporary Employees

The Court provides a limited scope of benefits (inclusive of Medical and Prescription coverage) to all part-time, temporary/extra help employees who work at least 30 or more scheduled hours per week.  Employees in this classification will be eligible for coverage the first day of the pay period, following 30 days of employment (also known as the employee "Waiting Period").

The limited scope of Extra Help/Temporary benefits will conclude on the last day of the pay period in which the employee is in a paid status.  Employees who lose group coverage through the Court's benefit plan may have the right to elect to continue coverage in accordance with the law under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (known as COBRA). For more information about COBRA coverage, please refer to the links below.  If you believe you qualify for a continuation of coverage under COBRA and have not yet received your COBRA packet, please contact the Court's Third Party Administrator, HealthComp.
